Rabbi Debi Wechsler Beit Midrash Endowment Fund

As a lasting gift to Chizuk Amuno, Rabbi Debi Wechsler created our Beit Midrash program, which has featured opportunities for learning from dozens of Rabbis and educators since its inception.

In Rabbi Wechsler's words, a Beit Midrash is both a place and an experience. A Beit Midrash literally is a Home of Study, a room filled with Jewish texts traditional and modern. A Beit Midrash is also an experience in which traditional Jewish texts are studied to seek out meaning and understanding. Those who come to the Beit Midrash are active learners with varying degrees of familiarity with text study, Hebrew language, and Jewish knowledge. Judaism imagines relationships between people mediated by text as groups of learners work together to wrestle with a text until it yields blessing.

To honor her legacy, which extends to so many parts of our community, the congregation has established the Rabbi Debi Wechsler Beit Midrash Endowment Fund. This fund will be used to support the Beit Midrash program in perpetuity, ensuring it continues to inspire and guide generations of learners for years to come.
