Honoring Dr. King: The Enduring Relevance of “Letter from a Birmingham Jail"

Honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s birthday at a dynamic, interactive exploration of the “Letter from a Birmingham Jail.” Students from the Baltimore School for the Arts will deliver portions of the Letter as dramatic readings. Then Pulitzer-prize winning author and King scholar Taylor Branch, grantmaker and pastor Tara Huffman, and community organizer Tre’ Murphy will discuss the relevance of the Letter today--including its religious and organizing implications. You’ll be invited to share thoughts and feelings in break-out sessions with other attendees.
