Jan. 19 – MLK screening of Zero Weeks – Baltimore Hebrew this Sunday afternoon
Jan. 20 – Possible group excursion on Monday night to see Just Mercy
Group visit (with guided tour?) to “Undesign the Redline” exhibit at Enoch Pratt (only there until Jan. 24, then moving to the library in Highlandtown through end of March)
Jan. 30 – Jewish Community, Race, and Who Counts – an evening with Ilana Kaufman, Executive Director of the Jews of Color Field Building Initiative, sponsored by Repair the World, hosted by Bolton Street Synagogue, Thurs. Jan. 30 at 7 p.m.
Through Saturday Feb. 1 and on Saturday Feb. 1 – Baltimore Hebrew Congregation hosts a traveling exhibit through Feb. 1, “Family Diversity Art Project: Building Bridges” (they asked if we might be interested in hosting it afterward, was going to ask about this tonight) – they will also have an Immigration Justice Havdalah this Saturday Feb. 1 at 4 p.m.
Feb. 5 (Wednesday afternoon, 4:30-6:30 p.m.) Screening of “Torn Apart: Separated at the Border” at Baltimore Museum of Art, sponsored by Baltimore Women’s Giving Circle and The Associated’s Jewish Women’s Giving Foundation
March 15-20: Baltimore Hebrew Congregation is trying to organize a trip to the border, specifically to Tijuana: Supported by HIAS, we will spend a week volunteering for Al Otro Lado (To the Other Side) Border Rights Project in Tijuana, Mexico. Al Otro Lado (www.alotrolado.org) is an emergency relief organization helping immigrants from around the world prepare to safely cross the border in Tijuana.
