Reading Partners – Your Chance to Change the Trajectory of a Child’s Life Informational Meeting:
Thursday, October 8, 7:30 p.m. via Zoom
Fact: Children who do not read at grade level by the time they leave 4th grade are four times less likely to graduate high school on time.*
Fact: Only 18% of Baltimore City 4th grade students are reading at or above grade level, and that number only goes up to 36% of 4th graders nation-wide.**
Solution: Reading Partners, a one-on-one tutoring program with a proven, step by step curriculum.
If you can read, and you have been searching for a way you can make a huge difference in the world, this program is for you. Reading Partners provides a scripted curriculum with step-by-step instructions to take your student from Point A to Point G, one lesson at a time. Over the last eight years of programming in Baltimore, the program has seen 83 to 85% of all students enrolled meet or exceed end-of-year literacy goals, putting the students back on grade-level.
This year, because of the pandemic, Reading Partners will be conducting its tutoring sessions online. Detailed training is available.
If you are interested in learning more, join us for our Zoom meeting on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. Former, current, and potential tutors are welcome. Tutors and a representative from Reading Partners will be available to answer your questions. The Zoom link will be sent out to those who register in advance. For questions or to RSVP, please contact Fran Glushakow Gould via e-mail at email@example.com or at 443-691-0133.
