RABBI MICHAEL MEYERSTEIN
HOLOCAUST LETTERS TO MY FATHER FINALLY REVEALED
Following Kristallnacht, Michael’s father, Ralph, left his family in Dusseldorf, Germany, and made his way to London, where he lived during WWII. Until November 7, 1941, Ralph’s parents sent him letters (400 handwritten pages in total!) that described the worsening situation for the Jewish community.
On November 9, Ralph’s parents were deported to the Minsk ghetto, where they were murdered. Through these letters, Michael was introduced to his grandparents ‘ persona. He also gained insight into the guilt that haunted his own parents, even as they sought to rebuild their lives in America.
Chizuk Amuno invites our seniors to gather their wisdom and maturity and join us as we chart the future together. Hazak will meet for lunch and program on the last Thursday of the month. The next lunch/program will be on Thursday, March 22 at 11:30 a.m.
Lunch is $10.
Please RSVP to Doris in the Stulman Center office – 410-486-6400, x-288 or at dtanhoff@chizukamuno.org
