May 2, 2019, 11:30 am - 12:45 pm Chizuk Amuno 8100 Stevenson Road Baltimore, MD 21208
HAZAK PROGRAM FOR YOM HASHOAH FOCUS: SAVING THE CHILDREN Thursday, May 2 at 11:30 am. Friends 55+ are invited to join us for lunch and a special program in honor of Yom HaShoah.
Our guest speaker will be our member Herta Baitch, who will share her experience escaping from Vienna in November, 1940, two years after the Nazis entered Austria.
Herta was brought to Baltimore by the area branch of the German Jewish Children’s Aid Society. That organization found foster homes for children in Jewish communities throughout North American. Other children were saved by the Kindertransport, which brought children to homes in England.
The cost for lunch is $10.
Please RSVP to Doris Tanhoff in the Stulman Adult Education Office, 410-824-2055.
