If you are JEWISH and you love CHOCOLATE, have we got a program for you!
Thursday, March 28, 11:30 a.m.

Join us on Thursday, March 28 for our next Hazak program. Our guest will be Sheilah Kaufman, and her topic will be, “The History of the Jews and Chocolates.” Learn how the Jews’ special relationship with the Indians of the Caribbean, (after the expulsion from Spain and Portugal), led to the development of the chocolate industry with the Jews as the most important players. Who knew there was a Jewish history here!

Sheilah Kaufman is the award-winning author of 26 delectable cookbooks, a culinary instructor, culinary lecturer, and food editor for more than 40 years. She has been a guest speaker for The Library of Congress, CAJE, Ort, Brandeis, Jewish Genealogy International, the National Book Festival, the Textile Museum, Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival, the Smithsonian Institution, The Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show, The Turkish Embassy, Jewish Federation, and diplomatic groups.

The program begins with lunch at 11:30 a.m., followed by the program. The cost for lunch is $10. RSVP to Doris Tanhoff in the Stulman Adult Education Office, 410-824-2055.
