All members of the community are invited to join us for our third annual Evening of Mitzvot! It will be a fun evening of camaraderie and Gemilut Hasadim (acts of loving kindness)!

At last year’s event, we created 150 Blessing Bags that were distributed to Our Daily Bread, 10 house-warming baskets for recipients of homes from Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake, 100 bags of trail mix (along with water bottles) for students participating in Soccer Without Borders, and hand-crafted greeting cards for each Blessing Bag and basket. This year, we will be (1) creating twiddle-blankets for patients struggling with dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease and (2) designing greeting cards with cheerful messages for patients in assisted living. Demonstrations for each project will take place during the Zoom session. There will also be directions included with the supplies.

A donation of $18 will be collected to defray the cost of the supplies for the program. Due to the issues with the mail, please email Donna Friedman donnagfried@comcast.net and let her know you want to participate. You can pay the $18 fee when you pick up your supplies. Checks should be made out to Chizuk Amuno Sisterhood. Please be sure to supply your email address for the Zoom link.

If you are unable to join us for the program you can still participate. Directions for the projects will be included with the supplies.

Pick up for mitzvah “kits” will be available at the entrance to the Administrative Lobby on Monday, February 1, from 4-5pm. If it is not possible for you to make it during that time, please contact Cheryl Snyderman at csnyderman@chizukamuno.org. If you have other questions, please contact donnagfried@comcast.net

This program is co-sponsored by Chizuk Amuno Sisterhood and Chizuk Amuno’s Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Gemilut Hasadim Initative.
