We welcome you and your family to continue to learn and pray with us each day in ways that we believe will elevate your search for meaning and deepen your faith.
We also invite you to keep in touch, reach out to us in times of need, and stay informed as we explore together the challenges and responses to COVID-19 through a Jewish lens.
Although our campus is temporarily closed, our community and all that we are able to offer at this time remain available and open to you in new and exciting ways. Some of our current offerings are listed below. May we all enjoy in peace, community, and good health!
Hinei Ma Tov
It began as a random email. A stranger reaching out across the net. A member of the Hamsptead Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who worked with a Chizuk Amuno member. The church was seeking a faith partner with which to engage in community service, might Chizuk Amuno be interested? YES! Months of shared conversation and planning led to this past Wednesday when 100 people, families from church and synagogue came together for an evening of community service and fellowship.
It was beautiful to welcome guests to our community and to share our deeply held values with them, as they did with us. Working side by side we made 200 bag lunches and 100 trail mix bags with personalized notes in each one. These were donated to Paul’s Place in South Baltimore- a community multiservice agency. Our youngest children made 40 detailed and carefully decorated get well cards to be sent to sick members in each congregation. Older children and their parents prepared 2 fleece blankets and one quilted blanket to be donated to a women’s shelter in Reisterstown and 50 bags of non-perishable food were sorted and donated to NESAP North East Social Action Program.
Each day we sing Hinei Mah Tov U’ Mah Na’im, shevet achim gam yachad. How good it is when brothers and sisters sit together in unity. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to do acts of loving kindness with a partner in faith and action.
