Shabbat Services
At Chizuk Amuno, Shabbat is a day to rejoice in the gift and experiences of our lives, to connect with our synagogue community, not only as an end to the week but also as a beginning to the week ahead.
Shabbat Evening
At 6 p.m. we gather for an Oneg Shabbat and the chance to greet each other. Kabbalat Shabbat Services are held each Friday evening at 6:15 p.m. in the Hoffberger Chapel. We welcome Shabbat in friendship, with song, and traditional davenen as we come together, taking leave of the busy routine of our week.
Shabbat Morning
Shabbat Morning Services are held in the Sanctuary, where our rabbis and Hazzan lead us in a warm and engaging service of traditional prayer and davenen. Our services include Torah study and the consideration of Jewish values and ideas for our lives and our world. We strive to provide a sacred place for personal prayer and reflection. The service is occasionally enhanced by the participation of our synagogue choir. Each week our service embraces members who come to celebrate individual and family milestones.
Festival and High Holy Day Services
On all Jewish holidays we come together as a community in celebration and prayer at our festival services. During the High Holy Days, services are held throughout the synagogue, including services in the Sanctuary, the Krieger Auditorium, the Stulman Auditorium, and family services for young families in the Esterson Auditorium, Hoffberger Chapel, and Krieger Gymnasium. Special programs and religious services are also offered for children and students in preschool through high school.
