Community: Cemetery
Cemetery

From the day Arlington cemetery was dedicated, it has been a Jewish Community Cemetery. Earl Grever, one of the leading cemetery architects in America, developed the initial plans. He was charged with the responsibility of designing a cemetery that eliminated the weaknesses of older cemeteries and their crowded stone-upon-stone sites.

The result thrust Arlington into a new era of cemetery design, consisting of wider roads, spacious plots, generous grass set-backs to prevent jamming of lots, plus flexible section layouts to fill aesthetic requirements from single plots to family estates. This far-sighted planning has given Arlington dignity and serenity.

Many people assume that the purchase of a cemetery lot is an unnecessary investment. Many people would like to avoid the subject entirely. Actually, the best time to consider purchasing your cemetery lot is when you are free of stress, and you are not pressured by time limitations. It is distressing to see families facing the expense of a catastrophic illness and death, and at the same time having to purchase a cemetery lot.
