Summer Camp for Adults - Leonard Bernstein: A Retrospective

Monday - Friday, June 25 - 29, 2012

Leonard Bernstein: A Retrospective - His Life, His Work, and the Art of His Times

In the fifth year of our popular Summer Camp for Adults, we celebrate the life of Leonard Bernstein, American Jewish composer, conductor, author, music lecturer, and pianist. Maestro Bernstein was a prolific composer, writing symphonies, ballet music, operas, chamber music, pieces for the piano, other orchestral and choral works, and other concert and incidental music.

Ken Meltzer, Community Spokesman for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, will lead us through a retrospective of Bernstein's life and work.

Susan Vick, Ph.D. will present the art that was contemporaneous with Bernstein's career. She will present portraits and photography, performance art, Impressionism, Psalms and Lamentations in Art, and Social Realism in 20th Century American Painting and Sculpture. Susan is the Curator of the Goldsmith Museum.

Ken and Susan are recognized and greatly appreciated as outstanding teachers. This is guaranteed to be a wonderful week.

Gourmet breakfast and snacks will be served daily. Camp fee: $130 CA Members; $140 non-members
