Tour Our Spaces

Chizuk Amuno's campus on Stevenson Road in Baltimore is a place for worship, study, and celebration. We gather here for holidays and major life events. We come together to pray and volunteer for community service. We join with others to read Torah and educate ourselves about the history of Judaism and the heritage of the Jewish people. In doing so, we create a sense of belonging to a vibrant community.

We invite you to tour our spaces online. To take a tour in person, email Cheryl Snyderman at Y3NueWRlcm1hbkBjaGl6dWthbXVuby5vcmc=

Our Campus

Chizuk Amuno Congregation's campus is a complex of buildings and fields located at 8100 Stevenson Road, just outside the Baltimore Beltway. A suburban campus, it spans 17 acres. The building houses the sanctuary, chapel, social hall, museum, synagogue offices, Goldsmith Early Childhood Education Center (GECEC) and the classrooms, gymnasium, and cafeteria of Krieger Schechter Day School (KSDS).

The Sanctuary

A symphony of light, sound and open space, the Chizuk Amuno sanctuary is representative of the architecture of the early 1960s. Its balance of modern style and traditional religious ornamentation also reflect the attitudes of Conservative Judaism, which maintains traditional Jewish practice as it recognizes the changing realities of the modern world.

The Chapel

Facing Chizuk Amuno's main entrance are the beech-colored wooden doors of Hoffberger Chapel, an intimate space for worship, learning, and holiday celebrations. Refurbished in 2009, the Chapel has new carpeting, chairs, and cabinets for talitot, tefillin, siddurim, and humashim. The seats can be arranged and rearranged in rows or circles.

Social Hall

A multi-use space with a stage, dance floor, and kosher kitchen, Krieger Auditorium serves as a site for wedding parties, simcha celebrations, and luncheons. It is also one of the many spaces at Chizuk Amuno where we hold High Holiday services. The auditorium has a capacity of approximately 500 people for a seated meal and more for a buffet-style event. We can accommodate 1000 for worship services.

Schools

Classrooms, art rooms, science labs, playgrounds, playing fields, a gymnasium, an auditorium, a library and media center, our synagogue's chapel and the sanctuary – school life at Chizuk Amuno Congregation plays out on many stages. And that's just for our younger students. Adult learning classes are held in Lerner Beit Midrash, the Munitz Library, the Hendler Learning Center, and the Esterson Auditorium.
