The Hendler Learning Center
In the fall of 2008, the Goldsmith Museum assumed operational control of the Hendler Learning Center located directly above the museum's permanent exhibit. Opened in 2004, the Learning Center features a floor-to-ceiling, 120-foot-long timeline of Jewish history set against the backdrop of world civilization from the Biblical period through the 21st century. The timeline itself provides a context for learning about Western history and Jewish history together.
In addition to the traditional display of dates and events, 143 historical highlights are given visual prominence by way of museum quality artifacts, original documents, and reproductions of paintings, maps, photographs, and prints. The Center also provides 120 square feet of open lecture space and a state-of-the-art projection system.
